Kim Scala is a transactional business and real estate attorney with an MBA and is a principal at Scala Law. She represents privately-held companies, individuals, and investors in real estate, financing, IP and business transactions. She also serves as strategic general counsel to emerging growth companies and family-held businesses. An entrepreneur with previous start-up experience, Kim left a large firm, where she was a partner, to start her own law firm in 2014.
Kim helps clients plan and implement management transitions and exit strategies, buy and sell businesses, strategically form new companies/partnerships/joint ventures, structure/restructure ownership and management of entities, navigate financing transactions, buy and sell property, enter leases, and handle general business matters. She is able to understand clients’ needs from both a legal and a business perspective, and to help them tackle business issues, formulate pragmatic solutions, and make strategic decisions.
Kim serves on the board of directors of Financial Women of San Francisco and Commercial Real Estate Women-East Bay, where she is the 2018 president. In 2016, she was the Industry Impact Award Honorable Mention winner at The Registry-CREW Elevate awards event, an iconic Bay Area-wide celebration of women in the commercial real estate industry. In 2014, she was honored as one of the “Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business” by the San Francisco Business Times
